Attached you will find a weekly schedule of Technology PD opportunities you can participate in throughout the week and/or month. A hardcopy will also be provided in your mailbox. I understand that your planning TIME is very VALUABLE and have gone back and forth for the last few months about how I can make PD more flexible for you this year.
Short PD Sessions
We will continue to offer technology in a variety of formats. However, 15-20 minute “Appetizers” will now be provided on select Fridays throughout the month. This is a great option for those of you who are stretched for time.
I would love for you to consider scheduling 1:1 Personalized Tech sessions with me. These sessions will target your specific classroom activity, special project, and overall curriculum standards that can be enhanced with technology. Personalized PD is not limited by the “traditional” formats that may not work with your schedule this year. You can even “Lunch and Learn” and eat while we meet. To schedule a session with me, please click on the link below my signature or go to www.hhstechnology.wordpress.com and click on the ITRT page.
It would be exciting to collaborate with each of you to enhance your well-developed student lessons with a sprinkle of technology. Please don’t hesitate to take advantage of having me come into your classrooms to help you guide students in all sorts of new tools for writing, review, formative assessment, discussion, special projects, etc. On days designated for student lessons, you could also schedule a time for small groups of students to come and meet with me as they work on special projects in the classroom.
Department and/or PLC meetings are a great time to get a brief introduction or overview of technology tools that can be aligned to your content.
There are hundreds of thousands of cool tech resources and techniques that are waiting to be discovered everyday! I don’t pretend to know everything, so if YOU have something you would like to share with the staff, please let me know. This includes tips and tricks for the new gradebook, activeinspire, or anything else we currently use. You can earn tech credit for collaborating with me on short tutorials as well.
Note: Mondays will generally be designated for Tech Planning and getting the “laptop” initiative up and running. As always, the weekly schedule attached may be subject to change (testing, meetings, emergencies, etc.), but I hope that it will provide better clarity on what is available throughout the school year.
